Premium Silver Halide
Unmatched Image Quality
Achieve the world’s highest image quality with Chromogenic Printing, a cutting-edge process that utilizes state-of-the-art RGB lasers to expose photosensitive silver halide paper. This paper is then developed using the RA-4 processs, a method steeped in traditional photographic chemistry, akin to the classic darkroom techniques. While this process is more intricate, time-consuming, and costly than inkjet printing, it delivers images that are fundamentally sharper and truer to color.

Limitations of Inkjet Printing
Inkjet printers create images by spraying tiny dots of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK) inks, tricking the eye into perceiving a full range of colors. Even professional inkjets, which may use up to eight colors, can struggle to reproduce certain hues accurately. This often results in prints that differ from what you see on your screen. Additionally, because inkjet images are formed by these sprayed dots, a close inspection reveals grainy textures. This is acceptable for prints intended to be viewed from a distance, but for photo mosaics—designed to be appreciated up close, even with a magnifying glass—the difference in sharpness is noticeable, and the grain can detract from the overall experience.

The Advantages of Silver Halide Printing
Silver halide printing offers a superior alternative. By using precise red, green, and blue lasers to expose the exact colors on light-sensitive paper, this method ensures that the final print mirrors the vibrant spectrum displayed on your screen. Think of it as having access to millions of ink colors, resulting in an image that is incredibly sharp and vividly colorful, without the distracting grains found in inkjet prints.
Many professional photographers exclusively offer silver halide prints to their clients, recognizing the significant difference in quality, longevity, and overall aesthetic. At Mosaically, we share this commitment to excellence, which is why we offer your mosaics on silver halide paper—so you can experience the unmatched beauty and durability of this superior printing process.
