maaaaarrs 6 million Jews were murdered as well as homosexuals, Ukrainian Slavs, the disabled, etc between 1933 and 1945 by the Nazis. Holocaust victims were first segregated, then stripped of their identity, and then sent either to their death or to work camps. Others were selected for medical experiments or torture. Hitler thought this was the 'final solution' to end World War 2.
When Allied forces won the war in 1945, the Jewish population was reduced (in Europe) from 9.5 million to 1.6 million in 12 years. Jews were also left without a home after the war, prompting Isreal to be established.
